"Launching Web 2.0 with Open Source Content Management Systems (CMS)",
a workshop with lunch provided. This event is a part of the 6 part
series on the new generation of internet based technology for
non-profits: "The Networked Non-profit".
If you've heard about Web 2.0 but are not sure how you would
incorporate new tools into your website, there is fantastic free
software available.
Breakfast included.
Open source content management systems can solve problems ranging
from setting up a blog or events calendar, to organizing effective
committee and project discussions, to just being able to easily update
your website without designer help.
This seminar will explore the various open source (freely
available) systems that include easy to use and integrated content
management and Web 2.0 tools.
The seminar will offer a number of strategic insights into planning and implementing your new website:
- Benefits and considerations for adopting Open Source CMS
- Planning steps for your website conversion
- Evaluating the human resource and financial costs and savings
- Compare the benefits and functionality of the major systems: Drupal, Joomla, and Plone.
